Niki Conrad was born and raised in Fort Dodge, in a blue-collar, union household where hard work wasn’t something you talked about — it was something you lived. Her family taught her that you show up, you keep your word, and you take care of the people around you. Those early lessons shaped who Niki is, how she leads, and how she serves.

Three years ago, Niki became Chair of the Webster County Board of Supervisors. The title matters less to her than the work: building partnerships, solving problems, and making sure county government is something people can rely on. Her days are spent with local leaders, small-business owners, parents, farmers, and folks she runs into at the grocery store. She believes government should be rooted in humanity, kindness, accessibility, and transparency.

Niki serves because Webster County deserves a strong voice — one that doesn’t get lost in the noise. Rural communities are often the first to feel the impact of decisions made at the state level. Childcare shortages, healthcare access, economic development, roads, schools, public safety — these aren’t abstract issues here. They’re what matter most in people’s everyday lives.

Niki’s goal is simple: to help build communities where people feel safe, supported, and heard. 

Niki is someone who believes deeply in community, connection, and service. She’s an advocate for strong rural-urban partnerships and transparent, open government. At home, she’s a proud dog mom to two rescues — Kennedy and Peach — who keep life grounded and joyful.
