Casey Schotter is a lifelong resident of District 5 and a candidate for County Supervisor. He has devoted his life to serving both his country and his community. For Casey, that commitment is more than a campaign message; it is a way of life.

After graduating from West High School in 2003, Casey enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served two tours in Iraq as an artilleryman, explosive ordnance specialist, and combat leader, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Under his leadership, fellow soldiers received life-saving infantry escorts and counterfire support.

As Casey puts it, “There are few things more challenging—or more rewarding—than serving your country, side-by-side with your brothers and sisters in combat.”
Casey also understands the challenges his neighbors face. He knows what it means to work multiple jobs—in retail, security, and warehousing—and to punch a time clock like many of the union members he proudly supports.

As a teacher and PhD student, Casey brings first-hand insight into education, its strengths, its challenges, and its power to prepare young people for leadership and community engagement.

His vision for a stronger Black Hawk County also includes supporting law enforcement, investing in infrastructure improvements, and protecting local waterways. These priorities are not just part of Casey’s campaign; they are promises to the people of Black Hawk County; the community he has always called home and will continue to serve.
